The world famous street party sees one hundred thousand people from across the world come together to sing, dance, hug, kiss and celebrate the new year below the spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.   The real star of the show is the dazzling fireworks display, launched from the Castle and six other sites through the city. The huge street party takes place in the centre of town with live music and theatre on several stages along Princes Street, George Street and the Royal Mile.
